Special price for SMILE surgery, the most advanced LASER refractive surgery

  • Special price in May 2021 for SMILE surgery, only in Dr. Holhoș network: 50% discount for the first SMILE surgeries
  • Full range of laser refractive ophthalmic surgeries in Dr. Holhoș clinics

May marked the debut of SMILE refractive laser surgery in the Dr. Holhoș network, which is why we chose to offer a substantial discount for this type of laser surgery to the first patients to undergo it. The first session of SMILE surgery has been discounted by 50%.

Zeiss’ RelEx SMILE technology is a revolutionary technology, the third generation of refractive laser developed in ophthalmology after PRK and LASIK. The innovation is that SMILE surgery is performed without a flap and without removal of the corneal epithelium. The other refractive techniques (PRK, LASIK or LASEK) differ in the way they are performed.

SMILE technology benefits patient comfort as a minimally invasive refractive procedure. It is a pain-free procedure that offers immediate results and fast post-operative recovery. Results can be seen immediately after surgery, with patients able to see well without glasses within 30 minutes of the procedure. The patient experiences only very slight discomfort even during the recovery period, and daily activities can be resumed after 72 hours. The myopia surgery and astigmatism surgery procedure is recommended for diagnosed patients up to the age of 40. Even high myopes of -10 can be operated on.

The revolutionary SMILE treatment is performed with the femtosecond laser, which allows correction to be performed in one step, in one procedure. The surgery is performed on the new Zeiss VisuMax Mel 90 platform, the latest generation in refractive surgery, which includes the femtosecond laser and the Excimer Mel 90 laser.

Presbyond surgery, the most complex laser refractive surgery currently available for patients with presbyopia, is also performed on the same platform. Presbyond surgery requires a combination of 2 lasers – femtosecond laser and customized Excimer laser. Presbyond laser surgery is the only laser surgery in the world fully dedicated to patients with presbyopia over the age of 40. It is the fastest and most effective laser treatment for patients with this diagnosis. The Dr. Holhoș network is the only one in Transylvania and the second in the country to offer this surgery to patients.

The Dr. Holhoș ophthalmology network offers all types of laser surgery for diopter reduction – Excimer PRK laser, FemtoLASIK (LASIK surgery), RelEx SMILE and Presbyond.

SEE PRACTICES AND CLINICS

Important note regarding patient consultations and surgery appointments

A patient who cancels a consultation or surgery appointment once, at least one day prior to the scheduled appointment, has the right to a second appointment under the same conditions.
If the patient cancels the second consultation and/or surgery appointment, a new appointment can be made only if the patient accepts to pay for both the consultation and the surgery in advance. This can be done either by payment order or in cash at the clinic reception.
A patient who does not show up for their consultation or surgery, who does not cancel the appointment in due time, or does not answer the clinic’s calls, may request a second appointment only if they pay for the consultation/surgery in advance.
Patients requesting an appointment for retinal surgeries or laser Prk/Femtolasik/Smile Pro must pay 30% of the cost of the surgery in advance. The appointment will be scheduled only after receiving the advance payment. If the patient is unable to attend the scheduled consultation or surgery, and cancels the intervention at least 48 hours beforehand, they will be refunded in full. If the patient does not show up and does not cancel or contact the clinic at least 48 hours in advance, the advance paid is considered to be lost as damages and will no longer be refunded.
